Andrea Elson

Andrea Hope Elson was an American actor. Elson began her career on television as a child model and actress. Her most famous role was Alice Tyler, portrayed by Elson on CBS"Sci-Fi. Andrea tried out to play the lead in ALF, the 1986 hit show. The show won her. The actress was on numerous popular TV shows as well as Movies of the Weekly for many more years before she quit the entertainment world to concentrate on her family. Andrea Elson was playing Lynn Tanner her teenager daughter of Kate and Willie - at a time when she had been going through a difficult time. In her retrospective from 2000, People Elson said developing as an actress of her age in front of a satcom's viewing audience was a challenge. In New York City in 1969 Elson was raised within the world of travel as her father was a traveling salesman. At 10 Andrea had been traveling to New York Chicago San Diego Los Angeles. Andrea found an agent located in San Diego and won her audition for the first role. Fusco defended the premise saying that "ALF is two hundred and eighty-five years old. He has the ability to drink beer, he's enough. NBC advised Fusco to stop ALF from drinking alcohol in front of children as it would be an unsuitable model. Fusco was still convinced that ALF was an adult and that he could manage the drink. In 1995, he was diagnosed with lymphoma. It was treated successfully, and the cancer remained at a high level of remission through the end of 2019. The illness ended his life on the 26th of June 2019, when he had been 75 years old. He died at the Lillian Booth Actors Home, Englewood NJ.
